Houston Rockets host Filipino Heritage Night on Oct. 28

The Houston Rockets have designated Oct. 28 as Filipino Heritage Night.  

The Rockets face the Utah Jazz on a night that will be special for Rockets rookie guard Jalen Green, who is of Filipino descent.

Green was the Rockets' second-round pick in the 2021 NBA draft. His mother is Filipino and Green has expressed aspirations of playing for the Philippines National team. He visited the Philippines back in 2018, participating in the National Basketball Training Center Division 1 All-Star Game.

The Jazz also has a player of Filipino descent in Jordan Clarkson. The game will mark the first time in NBA history in which two players of Filipino descent meet each other.

The Rockets join the Nets and the Warriors among the few NBA teams that host or have hosted Filipino Heritage Nights.
