Willis High School freshman Derek “DJ” Lagway has received multiple recruitment offers from various college football teams following his recent summer participation in college football camps, according to a Rivals article.

Georgia Tech and Houston have both made offers to Lagway, who has also recently received an offer from Arkansas.

"Blessed to receive an offer from The University of Arkansas," Lagway stated on Twitter.

Lagway, who stands at 6 feet and 3 inches and weighs 190 pounds, impressed coaches across Texas while attending a variety of camps, including those at Baylor and Texas A&M, according to a Recruiting News Guru article.

"The Texas coaches liked what they saw. They invited me to a second camp and told me they will watch me this season," Lagway stated in an interview with Recruiting News Guru.

One of the top quarterbacks in the Class of 2024, according to the Rivals article, Lagway is on his way to earning his second varsity letter with Willis, having started as a freshman.

Lagway is a dual-threat quarterback, who will be in charge of the Wildkats' pass-heavy spread offense, according to Recruiting News Guru.

During his first year with Willis, he ran a 4.7 in the 40-yard dash at the Rivals Camp Houston, completed eight of 25 passes for 128 yards and scored one touchdown.

Lagway is also a multi-sport athlete, participating in basketball and track & field.
