Klein Cain star wideout/kick returner Matthew Golden has all the motivation in the world for making his senior season one to remember.
“I’m just one person, on my hustle, my whole family could be rich,” Golden recently posted on Twitter.
Fresh off of having earned all-district honors at both positions in the last two seasons, the 6-foot-1-inch, 190-pound Golden recently signed with TCU, with 247Sports branding the four-star recruit “a dual threat player that can affect the outcome of a game from his wide receiver position as well as a kick returner.”
Also a member of the Klein Cain track team, the speedster finished with three games topping 100 yards receiving last season, including against Cypress Bridgeland, who Cain faces in a nationally televised game on Aug. 28.
"I'm just trying to be the best I can be this year,” said Golden, who counts the likes of Minnesota Vikings Justin Jefferson, Buffalo Bills' Stefon Diggs and Green Bay Packers' Devante Adams as receivers he likes watching. I'm trying to be a good leader, going to work every day and that's going to help me get better and help others around me get better."
Golden, who amassed 1,300 all-purpose yards last season, 1,027 as a receiver, said he knew TCU was the place for him from the moment he walked through the tunnel into Amon G. Carter Stadium.
"It just felt like home when I went on my official visit,” he said. "I looked at the offense and I just felt like it fit my playing style. That's what made my decision."
Golden chose TCU from 21 scholarship offers, including Wisconsin, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh.
