Klein senior middle blocker Kierstyn McFall is poised to make her fourth and final season the best of her prep career.
The 6-foot-4-inch McFall has seen it all since she was a freshman learning the ropes of varsity – from playoff heartbreak to the moves made by her upperclassmen teammates of the past. Klein was defeated last year by Seven Lakes in the 6A state championship game.
"Can’t wait to see @kierstyn_mcfall dominate her senior season," the Klein High School Twitter account said in a post on June 16.
In a tweet of her own also on June 16, McFall herself also said that she "can't wait" for the new volleyball season and tagged her school's main volleyball Twitter account. She also discussed how she's learned throughout her volleyball career.
"I feel like through my years of high school, and even club, I've started out as someone who's watched other girls and drawn from them the energy and intensity," McFall told Click2Houston. "I want to see myself become that older girl and become the athlete that myself as a little girl watched."
McFall also said that she and her teammates plan on working hard during her senior volleyball season.
"We all have the mentality that every day will be a grind," McFall told Click2Houston. "We know nothing will be handed to us. We're not going to take any games off. Everybody is going to want to come after us. We're going to use all of that to keep pushing us forward."
During her junior season, McFall registered 2.3 kills per set with 54 blocks to go along with an impressive .409 hitting percentage and 50.4 kill percentage, according to a report from Click2Houston. She is committed to North Florida. Other Klein volleyball players have played in college at North Florida as well as Clemson, Louisville and McNeese State.
