Earlier this month, Katy Independent School District (KISD) announced Taylor’s Bryce Foster and Seven Lakes’ Ally Batenhorst as its 2020-21 Student-Athletes of the Year.

Debbie Decker, KISD’s executive director of athletics, said on the Covering Katy Facebook page that with so many outstanding athletes districtwide, choosing the honorees is “a very difficult process to narrow down.”

“This past year, Bryce and Ally capped off outstanding careers and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for them,” Decker said.

For Foster, a former Taylor offensive lineman and a Texas A&M signee, it’s another accolade that joins his Gatorade Boys Track and Field Player of the Year Award.

Batenhorst played volleyball for Seven Lakes and is slated to do so for Nebraska.

The Covering Katy Facebook page said that Foster and Batenhorst will each receive a $2,500 scholarship donated to Katy ISD from BSN Sports.
