Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is giving his well wishes to Texas athletes heading to the Tokyo Olympic Games to compete.

"Proud of our Texas athletes representing this great nation on #TeamUSA, including the amazing Simone Biles, a member of the Texas Women’s Hall of Fame," Abbott said in a Twitter post

Biles, 24, who calls the Houston suburb of Spring home, seeks to add to the four gold medals and a bronze she won at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2016, the Team USA website said

If Biles wins three more gold medals, it'll tie her with Vera Caslavska, of Czechoslovakia, for all-time in women's gymnastics, the Team USA website said.

Biles punched her ticket to Tokyo at the St. Louis trial this summer, the Houston Daily said in an article.

"Never underestimate how strong you are," Biles said in a Twitter post.

She recently posted about the support team that helps her get through competitions.

"Appreciation post for my sweet parents. Thanks for making sacrifices since day 1 so I can live out my dream. But most importantly, thanks for always being there for me through all the highs and lows. You guys are the absolute best. I love y’all," Biles said in a Twitter post

If Biles gets four more medals of any color, she would become the most decorated gymnast, male or female, at global championship events, which include the Olympics and the world championships that take place each year in between, Team USA said on its website.
