Katy senior-to-be middle blocker and outside hitter Jordan Gamble has selected Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana as the school where she’ll continue her academic and athletic careers.

Gamble is coming off a junior year in which she helped guide the Lady Tigers to the regional final for the first time since the Clinton administration.

“I’m extremely excited and blessed to announce my verbal commitment to play D1 volleyball and further my academic career at Northwestern State University,” she tweeted on the Fourth of July. “I am so grateful to my family, friends, coaches and teammates who have supported me on this amazing journey!”

Gamble’s youth club, Houston Skyline, expressed its pride in her pledge.

“Congrats to Jordan Gamble [18 Black] on her commitment to Northwestern State University,” the team posted on Facebook on July 9.

Aside from a lengthy playoff run, Gamble earned a spot on the 2020 Greater Houston Volleyball Coaches Association postseason team, the Fort Bend Herald reported.
