Speedy Katy senior-to-be wideout Nicholas “Nic” Anderson selected Oregon out of a mountain of collegiate offers because of what he calls “the feel.”

Click2Houston reported that the 6-foot-4, 195-pound Anderson, who helped the Tigers win the Class 6A-Division II state championship as a junior, chose the Ducks over 28 other programs, including Notre Dame.

"I had a gut feeling after that last visit to Oregon (last weekend) that I had a great connection with the whole program,” Anderson told the NBC affiliate. “It's where I felt I needed to be. The coaching staff, the community, the town. It was a really great experience."

The multi-sport athlete kept it simple when announcing his choice, which followed a trip to the campus in Eugene, Oregon last month.

“#GoDucks,” he tweeted on July 1.

Anderson’s Twitter bio indicates that ESPN has him ranked seventh out of 300.

NBC Sports reported that in addition to being the nation's No. 31 wide receiver and No. 215 player nationally, Anderson ran the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.10 seconds.
