The wins keep on coming for Stratford High girls’ golfer Payton Berry.
In the wake of finishing second in the State 2A championships, the Texas House of Representatives has passed a resolution honoring Berry for her accomplishments.
“By excelling in the state’s premier showcase for high school golfers, Payton Berry has ably represented her school and community, and she will cherish her memories of this
outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, therefore, be it resolved, that the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Payton Berry on winning a silver medal in 2A competition at the UIL Golf State Tournament," the resolution reads.
As a team, the Lady Elks finished fifth in the team standings and was also feted with the Lady Elks girls Outstanding Golf Award.
Payton has also made a name for herself by competing in the North Texas Junior Tour of the PGA from 2014-2020.
