Lutheran South Academy defeated Southwest Christian School Fort Worth and capped off its TAPPS Division 11 State Championship back-to-back title run with a 16-0 whitewashing of Southwest Christian.

“Back to back to back state champs,” the school posted on its Twitter page. “South takes down Southwest Christian 16-0."

The win clinched the Pioneers' fourth title in six seasons, with the victors also finishing on top in 2015, 2018 and 2019. If COVID hadn’t knocked out the 2020 season, there is a chance the Pioneers may have also been in the running in 2020.

Against Christian, Lutheran South wasted little time establishing their dominance. Tyler Ehlinger had an RBI single and Easton Breener added a run scoring double to set the tone early.

A few innings later, Breener plated two more runs with an RBI double and finished the game with four hits.

Nelson Klein went the distance for Lutheran South, retiring the first nine batters he faced.
