'What a remarkable season': Kingwood Park ranked No. 4 in 5A baseball

The Kingwood Park Panthers ended their season with back-to-back losses against College Station and by earning the praise of their supporters.

“Park loses two games to College Station today,”a post on the team’s Twitter page said. “What a remarkable season for this 2021 team. Great group of seniors that led from Day 1. Not the ending we had hoped for but still nothing to hang our heads about. We are proud of our boys.”

Ranked No. 4 in the Class 5A rankings, Kingwood Park (23-7-2) was held scoreless in the second game against College Station despite banging out 11 hits. College Station won the opener 6-3.

Marshall Burke, CJ Schoettein and Jonas Holloway all had an RBI for the Panthers.

Kingwood Park came into the College Station series riding a seven-game winning streak where they had outscored opponents by a cumulative score of 49-12.
