Former Cypress Ranch High School track and field standout Bailey Ashmore completed her collegiate pole vaulting career recently with the University of North Texas.

The Mean Green pole vaulter had great success in both high school and her college career. This year, she was able to improve the UNT pole vault record to 4.06 meters while competing at the Conference USA Championships. There, she earned runner-up honors.

She was named second team All-Conference this year. Ashmore also placed second at the Ted Nelson Invitational, coming in at 3.88 meters in January. She also finished seventh place at the Houston G5-Super 22 Invitational, recording a height of 3.75 meters.

Ashmore didn't compete last year, but returned to the sport this year to achieve an array of accolades. She departs UNT as a redshirt senior.

In high school, she took third place at the Texas Relays with a personal best 12-2.00 feet vault.
