Governor Greg Abbott highlighted the role of Turning Point USA (TPUSA) Club America chapters on high school campuses throughout Texas, stressing their significance for students statewide.
"There has been no moment in time during the course of this century when there was such an urgency and a need for an organization like TPUSA and Club America," said Governor Abbott. "They have helped to restore moral clarity, constitutional principles, and our founding values. I am grateful for the young men and women behind me and their peers across the state for stepping up and identifying themselves as the future leaders of the Lone Star State."
The event included participation from Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, TPUSA Senior Director Josh Thifault, Texas Education Agency Commissioner Mike Morath, along with other officials at both state and local levels.
Governor Abbott also acknowledged Charlie Kirk's influence on the conservative movement and his work in reaching young people nationally. He noted that Texas currently leads all states in the number of Club America chapters. The Governor stated that Texas will support further growth of these clubs within schools.
He also emphasized that any schools impeding Club America programs should be reported to the Texas Education Agency (TEA), which would open investigations and consider disciplinary measures if necessary.
Photos from the event are expected to be made available at a later date.
