Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Patrick Fertitta to the University of Houston System Board of Regents. Fertitta's term will last until August 31, 2027.

Fertitta is the director of Fertitta Entertainment, a company that manages operations in dining, hospitality, entertainment, and gaming. The company’s portfolio includes the Houston Rockets, Landry’s restaurants, and Golden Nugget Casinos. He also serves as an alternate governor on the National Basketball Association Board of Governors.

In addition to his business roles, Fertitta is involved in several organizations. He is Director of the Space City Home Network and the Clutch City Foundation. He supports charitable initiatives through involvement with Big Brothers Big Sisters Houston, Houston Children’s Charity, and the Chariots for Children Expansion Committee.

Fertitta holds a business degree from the University of Southern California.
