Congressman Troy E. Nehls (R-TX-22) announced that his bill, H.R. 4711, known as the Rapid Expulsion of Migrant Offenders who Violate and Evade (REMOVE) Act, has passed the House Judiciary Committee.

The legislation aims to conclude removal proceedings for undocumented immigrants within 15 days after such proceedings begin. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) introduced a similar version of the REMOVE Act in the Senate.

“I’m extremely pleased that my bill, the REMOVE Act, was advanced by the House Judiciary Committee today,” said Congressman Nehls. “The Biden Administration let millions upon millions of illegal aliens into our country who wreaked havoc on our communities and drained public resources. My bill reduces barriers that drag on the removal proceedings of illegal aliens and equips the Trump Administration with the necessary tools to deliver on key promises President Trump made to the American people. Thank you to my Republican colleagues who supported this legislation, which will help President Trump deport illegal aliens at record speed.”

Nehls has served as U.S. Representative for Texas’ 22nd Congressional District since first winning election in 2020. He defeated Sri Preston Kulkarni in that year’s general election with about 51.5% of the vote. He won re-election in 2022 against Jamie Jordan with approximately 62.2% support, and again in 2024 against Marquette Greene-Scott with about 62.1% of votes cast.
