Congressman Brian Babin (R-TX) announced his support for the release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. Babin made his position clear after voting in favor of making the files public.
“Jeffrey Epstein was patient zero for Trump Derangement Syndrome. Democrats had these files for four years and did nothing; now, suddenly, they’re crying for transparency? I believe in full transparency for the American people, which is why I voted to release everything. But this is clearly just a political sideshow. Meanwhile, Stacey Plaskett (D-V.I.) was literally caught texting Epstein in the middle of a congressional hearing, and the Left says nothing. While Republicans call for real accountability, Democrats obsess over distractions, and our focus must stay on what really matters: making life more affordable for American families.” Congressman Babin said.
The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform has released over 65,000 pages of documentation connected to Epstein, including more than 20,000 from the Epstein Estate. The committee also published the transcript of former U.S. Attorney General William Barr’s deposition and issued subpoenas to several parties: the Justice Department's records, Bill and Hillary Clinton, the Epstein Estate, and Ghislaine Maxwell.
Babin has held his seat through several election cycles with significant margins. In 2024 he defeated Dayna Steele with nearly 70% of the vote; previous victories include defeating Jon Haire in 2022 with about 70%, Rashad Lewis in 2020 with roughly 74%, Dayna Steele again in 2018 with about 73%, Michael Cole in 2014 with around 76%, and Hal Ridley Jr. in 2016 with almost 89%.
