Governor Greg Abbott spoke at the Texas Association of Business (TAB) Summit, discussing the state’s economic direction and its role in shaping the future of the United States. The event, titled "Texas Dynamism and the Next Economic Frontier," featured a fireside chat moderated by TAB President and CEO Glenn Hamer.

"Texas is the blueprint for America's future economic success," Governor Abbott said. "We are leading America as the headquarters of headquarters, are the No. 1 state for job creation, and have no state income tax. We will ensure the freedom and opportunity that Texas has always offered will remain the beacon that draws people from all over the world to our great state."

Abbott highlighted several factors contributing to Texas’ economic position, including a regulatory environment he described as reasonable and predictable, along with a young and diverse workforce. He also pointed to recent investments from technology companies, especially in artificial intelligence (AI), which he said are helping establish Texas as a center for AI development.

Last week, Abbott joined Google in announcing a $40 billion investment in Texas under Google's "Investing in America" initiative.

The governor thanked TAB for bringing together employers, innovators, and policymakers to support growth and innovation in Texas. During the summit, he received the TAB Champion for Capitalism Award in recognition of his efforts to maintain Texas’ status as an economic leader.

Other attendees at the summit included San Antonio Port CEO Jim Perschbach, Representative John Lujan, business leaders, and state officials.

Additional photos from the event are expected to be released soon.
