Governor Greg Abbott has appointed D. Bailey Wynne and Kathey Comer to the Texas Council on Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders. Their terms will run through August 31, 2031. The council is responsible for coordinating state services for individuals affected by Alzheimer's disease and related disorders.
D. Bailey Wynne, from Duncanville, is currently a teaching fellow and doctoral student at the University of North Texas in Denton. She holds memberships in the American Pharmacists Association and the Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Wynne also serves on the finance board for Young Life and as a commissioner with the Duncanville Planning and Zoning Board. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Creighton University, a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from The University of Texas at Arlington, and a Master of Arts in Health from Texas Woman’s University.
Kathey Comer, based in Tyler, is retired. She previously worked as East Texas Regional Director for U.S. Senator John Cornyn and held executive vice president roles at several home builders associations including those in Greater Austin, Dallas, and Tyler Area Builders. Comer participates as a member of Catalyst 100, is a certified Main Street Director, serves as secretary for the Black Hills Cemetery board of directors, volunteers with the Texas Book Festival committee, is a visionary member for the Women’s Fund of Smith County, and is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Austin. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Baylor University, completed advanced degrees in Gerontology and Long-Term Care Administration at UNT, and pursued post-graduate studies in early childhood education at UT Tyler.
