Governor Greg Abbott has announced a statewide moment of silence in Texas to honor the victims of the October 7, 2023, terrorist attacks in Israel. The observance is scheduled for 7:00 AM Central Time on October 7, 2025. This initiative also serves as a day of remembrance for those who lost their lives and for individuals who remain held hostage.

In his statement, Governor Abbott said, "The State of Texas recognizes the inherent value of life and condemns all acts of hate while remaining committed to promoting prosperity, security, and dignity for all. Two years ago, inconceivable horrors emerged against the people of Israel, marking a day in history that our world must never forget. On the Day of Observance for Israel, we must reiterate our position that hatred and evil have no place in our world as we honor and remember the victims, their families, and their fellow countrymen."

The proclamation reflects ongoing concerns about violence and terrorism globally and expresses solidarity with those affected by such events.
