Congressman Troy E. Nehls (R-TX-22) has been selected to serve on the Select Subcommittee on January 6. In a statement, Nehls said, “I’m honored to be selected to serve on the Select Subcommittee on January 6. I know firsthand what happened on January 6, and I’m looking forward to permanently setting the record straight and shining the light on what truly happened on January 6, 2021, the days leading up to January 6, and the days following. The American people deserve the truth and transparency about the security failures that occurred on January 6, and I look forward to providing them with answers and the truth that they rightfully deserve.”

Nehls represents Texas’ 22nd Congressional District. He was first elected in 2020 after defeating Sri Preston Kulkarni in the general election with approximately 51.5% of the vote. In subsequent elections, he won reelection against Jamie Jordan in 2022 with about 62.2% of votes cast, and again in 2024 against Marquette Greene-Scott with roughly 62.1%.
