Governor Greg Abbott has announced that the next Governor’s Small Business Summit will take place in Eagle Pass on Thursday, September 11, 2025. The event is part of a series held throughout the year across Texas to support small business owners and entrepreneurs by connecting them with resources and information needed for business growth.

“Small businesses are the driving force behind Texas’ thriving economy,” said Governor Abbott. “With more than 3.5 million small businesses across Texas, employing nearly half of all working Texans, our state continues to lead in job creation and business expansion. I invite all small business owners and entrepreneurs to attend this Governor’s Small Business Summit or one in their region. Together, we will ensure that our small business community continues to thrive as we build a stronger, more prosperous Texas for generations to come.”

The summit in Eagle Pass will bring together partners from local, state, and federal levels to offer insights on important topics relevant to small businesses. Attendees will have opportunities for networking and access to experts who can provide practical advice on various issues facing small businesses.

The event is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the International Center for Trade located at 3295 Bob Rogers Dr., Eagle Pass, TX 78852. Panel sessions will cover subjects such as when to scale or sell a business, financing strategies, marketing techniques, and general guidance for new business owners. Joe Esparza, Commissioner Representing Employers at the Texas Workforce Commission, is set as the featured speaker.

Registration costs $20 and includes access to all sessions, resource providers, lunch, and complimentary headshots. Additional details about registration can be found at https://gov.texas.gov/events.

Other upcoming summits are scheduled for Carthage on September 25; Denton on October 23 (with a focus on women); and Belton on November 13 (with a focus on veterans).

In addition to these events held around the state, the Governor’s Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office along with the Office of Small Business Assistance also offers online webinars covering resources available for small businesses in Texas. On-demand recordings of past webinars are accessible at https://gov.texas.gov/business/page/small-business-webinars.
