The City of Kaufman has been officially designated as a Film Friendly Texas Certified Community, following the completion of a multi-step training and certification process overseen by the Texas Film Commission.
Governor Greg Abbott recognized Kaufman's achievement, stating, “Congratulations to Kaufman on joining more than 200 Film Friendly Texas Certified Communities. The Texas Film Commission partners with communities in every region of the state to market their unique appeal and attract new investments in media production. Through ongoing Film Friendly Texas training, communities are prepared to support media production, spurring on-site spending at local businesses and creating good-paying jobs for Texans.”
Senator Bob Hall also commented on the designation: “Congratulations to the City of Kaufman on being designated a Film Friendly Texas Certified Community. This achievement highlights Kaufman’s vibrant character, rich history, and welcoming spirit — qualities that make it an ideal backdrop for creative projects. By opening the door to new film and media opportunities, Kaufman is not only showcasing its unique charm to the world but also creating lasting benefits for our local businesses and residents.”

With this certification, Kaufman joins over 200 other communities across Texas that receive continued training from the Texas Film Commission regarding industry standards and best practices for accommodating filming activities locally.
The Texas Film Commission has promoted film-related industries in the state for more than five decades through its work within the Governor’s Economic Development & Tourism Office. The commission aims to grow local economies by attracting various forms of media production such as film, television, animation, visual effects, video games, and extended reality projects.
