Today, Aviation Chairman Troy E. Nehls and Representative Sharice Davids issued a statement following the second meeting of the bipartisan Air Traffic Control (ATC)/National Airspace System (NAS) Modernization Working Group. The session aims to promote open dialogue with aviation industry stakeholders.
"Today, we had a successful conversation with telecommunications providers, focused on making necessary changes to our telecommunications infrastructure within our nation’s air traffic control and national airspace system," said Nehls and Davids in their joint statement. They acknowledged that current telecommunications technologies are outdated and prone to temporary outages, emphasizing that this situation must change.
The representatives noted that the discussions provided valuable insights as part of a broader effort to update the nation's air traffic control and national airspace systems. "We are leaning forward in the saddle and are committed to revitalizing these outdated systems," they stated. They stressed their commitment to delivering improvements for the American people.
