Governor Greg Abbott expressed gratitude to fellow governors for their support following severe flooding in Texas. The floods prompted a request for assistance through the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC), leading to aid from 26 states.
“Texas is grateful for the outpouring of support from our fellow Americans across the country as we continue to recover and rebuild after the devastating floods,” Governor Abbott stated. “The bravery and generosity of these emergency teams played a vital role in our mission to save lives and help our communities begin the road to recovery. Texas will rebuild, and we thank our partners for standing with us every step of the way.”
Assistance included various resources such as search and rescue teams, swiftwater boat squads, helicopters, K-9 teams, and voluntary agency liaisons from states including Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina Tennessee Virginia Wisconsin.
