Governor Greg Abbott has updated the public on Texas' ongoing efforts to assist communities affected by recent severe flooding. The state has deployed over 2,200 personnel and more than 1,200 vehicles and equipment assets, with over 20 state agencies responding to flooding threats.

Under Governor Abbott’s direction, the Texas State Operations Center remains activated at Level II to coordinate state support for local jurisdictions. Flooding continues to affect multiple regions including Central Texas, Hill Country, Big Country, and Concho Valley.

Texans are urged to report missing loved ones by calling 830-258-1111 or emailing kerrvillemissing@dps.texas.gov. The public can donate through the Central Texas Flood Recovery Fund created by OneStar Foundation.

State emergency response resources remain available under the Governor's direction. Agencies like the Texas Division of Emergency Management and others provide a range of support from swiftwater rescue squads to mental health services. Additional assistance comes from states such as Arkansas and California.

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) offers crisis counseling through local mental health authorities. Individuals can contact the Disaster Distress Helpline at 800-985-5900 or text “TalkWithUs” to 66746 for immediate support.

Texas received federal approval for SNAP replacement benefits in 21 counties for food lost in floods. Residents must apply by August 4. SNAP recipients can also purchase hot foods with Lone Star Cards through August 7 in certain counties.

The Texas Workforce Commission is accepting applications for Disaster Unemployment Assistance due to severe storms affecting Kerr County under President Donald J. Trump's Major Disaster Declaration.

Community-based mental health services are available for individuals impacted by flooding. First responder resources include mental health support provided through internal agency teams offering wellness checks and emotional support.
