Today, Congressman Wesley Hunt introduced a resolution to declare July as "American Pride Month." He plans to launch the month-long celebration with a video featuring former President Donald Trump and highlighting Americans who have contributed to the nation's success. Throughout July, Congressman Hunt will share daily posts about significant moments in American history to emphasize the country's achievements and sacrifices.
Hunt stated that fostering patriotism is essential for preserving America for future generations. He emphasized the importance of teaching and celebrating both historical patriots and future successes. According to him, "America is tired" of cultural divisions and seeks to reclaim national identity from narrow agendas.
He remarked, "If corporations and left-wing activists can co-opt June to promote their ideology under the banner of 'Pride Month,' then surely July, the month of our founding, can and must be reclaimed to honor something far greater: American Pride Month."
The initiative began in 2022 with an aim to celebrate individuals and values defining the republic from 1776 patriots to today's leaders. Hunt declared July as American Pride Month once more, aiming to celebrate heroes, teach history, and revive patriotism.
Additionally, he called on President Trump to sign a Presidential Proclamation for this national celebration. Hunt believes no other president understands patriotism's value more than Trump.
"From sea to shining sea," Hunt urged people "to make patriotism cool again" by celebrating freedom not just on Independence Day but throughout July.
