Southwest Management District Board of Directors met June 23.

Here is the agenda provided by the board:

1. Determine quorum; call meeting to order. 

2. Receive public comments. (A statement of no more than 3 minutes may be made on items of general relevance. There will be no yielding of time to another person. State law prohibits the Board Chair or members of the Board from commenting on any statement or engaging in dialogue without an appropriate agenda item being posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Law. Comments should be directed to the entire Board, not individual members. Engaging in verbal attacks or comments intended to insult, abuse, malign, or slander any individual shall be cause for termination of time privileges).

3. Approve Minutes of meeting held May 27, 2025.

4. Update from Finance Committee.

a. Receive Assessment Collection Report.

b. Receive monthly financial reports; and approve payment of invoices.

5. Updates and recommendations from Public Safety Committee:

a. Receive and consider support funding for HPD Midwest Back to School, Halloween and Holiday events.

b. Receive and consider support funding for HPD Westside Back to School, Halloween and Holiday events.

c. Receive and consider support funding for AAPOA Gala.

d. Receive and consider the proposed contract for the Harris County Attorney’s Office Nuisance Abatement Program.

6. Updates and recommendations from Business & Economic Development Committee:

a. Receive and consider sponsorship request submitted by Daya Inc. for the 2025 A Journey of Transformation Gala.

b. Receive and consider sponsorship request submitted by the Vietnamese Culture & Science Assn. for the Viet Cultural Fest.

c. Receive and consider sponsorship request submitted by Community Involvement Fund for the Miss Chinatown Houston Scholarship Pageant.

7. Updates and recommendations from Environmental & Urban Design Committee.

8. Consider the creation of the Governmental Affairs and Outreach Committee.

9. Executive Director’s Report.

10. Adjourn.
