Governor Greg Abbott announced that Texas has become the leading state in job creation over the past year. According to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Texas gained 28,100 nonfarm jobs in May and 213,300 jobs from May 2024 to May 2025, surpassing other states.

"Texas is America’s undisputed jobs engine," stated Governor Abbott. He attributed this success to collaboration with the Texas Legislature, resulting in a legislative session that promoted pro-growth policies. These included expanding career and technical training programs and removing regulatory barriers for businesses. "The policies I signed into law mean more paychecks and more opportunities for Texas families to thrive," he added.

Under Governor Abbott's leadership, Texas has added over 2.53 million jobs. The state's economic momentum continues as it breaks records for total jobs, employment numbers, and labor force size.
