Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Stefan Hussenoeder, Ph.D., to the TexNet Technical Advisory Committee. The term of his appointment will last at the governor's discretion. The committee is responsible for advising the Bureau of Economic Geology on funding usage, including for the TexNet Seismic Monitoring Program and research collaborations with other Texas universities. Additionally, it assists in preparing a status report for both the Governor and Legislature.

Stefan Hussenoeder, from Sugar Land, has been with ExxonMobil since 1998 as an injection and seismicity advisor within their Upstream organization. He chairs the Permitting Sub-Committee for the Texas Seismicity and Water Partnership (TX SWP) and leads the Deep Disposal and Seismic Workgroup for the New Mexico Oil and Gas Association (NMOGA). His academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Geophysics from Saint Louis University and a Doctorate in Oceanography (Marine Geophysics) from Massachusetts Institute of Technology - Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
