Governor Greg Abbott has announced that John Paul Mitchell Systems (JPMS) will relocate its corporate headquarters from California to Dallas County, Texas. This move includes the establishment of a new global product distribution center. JPMS, known for distributing professional hair care products under brands like Paul Mitchell, Tea Tree, and Neuro, is set to create 80 new jobs and make over $12 million in capital investments in the area.

The Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) has awarded JPMS a grant of $640,000 to facilitate this expansion. Additionally, the company will receive an $8,000 Veteran Created Job Bonus.

"Texas is the headquarters of headquarters," stated Governor Abbott. "This $12 million investment by John Paul Mitchell Systems to expand their corporate headquarters to Texas and establish a new global product distribution center in Wilmer will create 80 new good-paying jobs for hardworking Texans."

John Paul DeJoria, co-founder of JPMS, expressed his gratitude: “I’m honored that John Paul Mitchell Systems was selected as a grant recipient through the Texas Enterprise Fund... We’re grateful to Governor Abbott and the State of Texas for their warm welcome and support.”

Senator Royce West highlighted the benefits for Dallas County: “The expansion of this global company will bring jobs to the area as well as contribute to the economic success of Dallas County and our state.”

Representative Aicha Davis welcomed JPMS’s decision: “Our district is bustling with opportunity... We welcome JPMS to Wilmer.”

Wilmer Mayor Sheila Petta noted: “This investment brings not only new jobs and economic development but also increased visibility to Wilmer as a destination for major industry.”

Rona Stringfellow, City of Wilmer Economic Development Director, emphasized Wilmer's strategic advantages: “We are committed to supporting JPMS's growth and success.”

The TEF aims at fostering business relocation or expansion projects that generate good-paying jobs and attract significant capital investment by competing with out-of-state locations.
