Governor Greg Abbott has announced that the next Governor’s Small Business Summit will take place in Bastrop on June 26, 2025. The summit is part of a series held throughout the year across Texas, aimed at supporting small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs by providing them with essential resources and information.

"Small businesses are the cornerstone of our vibrant communities and the driving force behind Texas’ thriving economy," stated Governor Abbott. "With more than 3.3 million small businesses across Texas, employing nearly half of all working Texans, our state continues to lead in job creation and business expansion. I invite all small business owners and entrepreneurs to attend this Governor’s Small Business Summit or one in their region."

The event in Bastrop will gather local, state, and federal resource partners to offer insights on important business topics. Participants will have opportunities to network with other business owners and learn from experts who will provide practical advice on various small business subjects.

The summit will be held at the Bastrop Convention & Exhibit Center from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Topics covered include scaling or selling a business, leveraging state and local programs for growth, and utilizing technology effectively.

Clint Howard, an artist and owner of Pyrology Foundry & Studio, will deliver the keynote address. Registration costs $20 and includes access to sessions, resource providers, lunch, and complimentary headshots. Further details can be found at gov.texas.gov/events.

Upcoming summits are scheduled for July 10 in Rockport-Fulton; July 24 in Waxahachie; August 7 in Pharr; August 21 in Big Lake; September 11 in Eagle Pass; September 25 in Carthage; October 9 in Dalhart; October 23 in Denton (focused on women); and November 13 in Belton (focused on veterans).
