Governor Abbott appoints Chris Broom to advisory committee

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Chris Broom to the Aerospace and Aviation Advisory Committee. Broom's term on the committee will last until September 1, 2027. The committee plays a role in Texas's economic development by focusing on attracting and maintaining aerospace and aviation jobs and investments.

Chris Broom is based in Dallas and currently serves as the vice president of Commercial Training Solutions for Boeing Global Services. His previous experience includes a 27-year career at American Airlines, where he reached the position of managing director of Flight and Training Administration. He is also involved with various organizations; he sits on the USS Yorktown Association Board of Directors and acts as an executive sponsor for the North Texas chapter of the Boeing Veteran Engagement Team.

Broom has also held leadership roles in other organizations, having served as a member, vice-president, and president of the Susan G. Komen – Dallas Board of Directors. He was also part of the St. Mark’s School of Texas Alumni Board of Directors. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Central Oklahoma.
