Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Ray "Chance" Bolton as the Chair of the Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board. The appointment is set to last at the Governor's discretion. This board is responsible for overseeing education, ethics, and the certification or licensing of real estate appraisers and trainees.
Ray "Chance" Bolton hails from Lakeway and brings extensive experience to his new role. He is currently the managing partner at Bolton Real Estate Consultants, Ltd., and owns Bolton Real Estate Services where he also acts as a broker. Bolton holds multiple professional designations including Certified Commercial Real Estate Appraiser from the National Association of Real Estate Appraisers and General Accredited Appraiser from the National Association of REALTORS.
His previous roles include serving on the board of directors for the Lake Travis Education Foundation and participating in the State Bar of Texas' Law Focused Education Committee. He completed his Bachelor of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship at the University of Houston and has served as a United States Navy Veteran.
