Texas has set new records for total jobs, the number of Texans working, and the size of its labor force according to April employment data. Governor Greg Abbott highlighted Texas as a leading state for job-creating businesses. Over the past year, Texas gained 215,500 nonfarm jobs, surpassing the national growth rate.

"Texas is the undisputed champion for attracting job-creating business investments in the United States," said Governor Abbott. He emphasized that "businesses invest with confidence in Texas thanks to the Best Business Climate in America and our highly skilled and growing workforce."

The latest figures from the Texas Workforce Commission indicate that Texas now has its largest-ever labor force at 15,814,400 individuals. The number of Texans working reached 15,171,500, including self-employed workers. Total nonfarm jobs hit a record high of 14,320,100 after an increase of 37,700 jobs in April alone.

Governor Abbott proclaimed May 12‒16 as Economic Development Week in Texas and celebrated winning the 2025 Prosperity Cup for attracting job-creating business investments. This accolade contributes to what he termed as earning Texas the “Triple Crown Trophy” for having the best economy nationwide.

Recently signed into law by Governor Abbott were three pieces of pro-growth legislation aimed at enhancing Texas' capital market environment. Present at this signing ceremony were Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick; Speaker Dustin Burrows; TXSE Group Inc.'s Founder James Lee; and Glenn Hamer from the Texas Association of Business among other leaders.
