Governor Greg Abbott met with Taiwan's Minister of Economic Affairs, Jyh-Huei Kuo, to discuss enhancing economic partnerships and technology investments between Texas and Taiwan. The meeting focused on collaboration in key sectors such as semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicles, and energy resilience.

Governor Abbott emphasized Texas as an ideal business environment, citing its thriving economy, low taxes, and reasonable regulations. He noted that these factors make the state attractive for companies worldwide to relocate.

The discussion also covered strategies for building resilient supply chains through technology and advanced manufacturing clusters. Governor Abbott highlighted the state's skilled workforce and career training programs that support growth in high-demand industries like manufacturing and technology development.

Last July, Governor Abbott announced plans to open a State of Texas Taiwan Office in Taipei during an economic development trip to Taiwan. During this mission, he signed an Economic Development Statement of Intent with Minister Kuo aimed at boosting investment, expanding trade, creating jobs, and fostering innovation between Texas and Taiwan.
