Governor Greg Abbott has announced that NTxBio will set up a biomanufacturing facility in Plano, Texas. This initiative is expected to create over 170 jobs and bring more than $31 million in capital investment to the area. The Texas Enterprise Fund has granted $1,479,000 to support this development.

Governor Abbott remarked, "Texas is the epicenter for groundbreaking, life-saving medical research and home to thousands of biotech and life science firms." He added that the investment would contribute significantly to Texas' skilled workforce in the life sciences sector.

NTxBio was established in 2015 and focuses on manufacturing pharmaceutical-grade raw materials used in RNA and protein therapeutics. Dr. Jamie Coffin, President and CEO of NTxBio, expressed enthusiasm about expanding into Plano: “We are thrilled to expand into our new facility in Plano as we grow to keep up with demand for NTx’s biomanufacturing platforms.” He noted Texas' vibrant biotech community and its talent pool as key factors in their decision.

Senator Angela Paxton highlighted Plano's role as an attractive destination for innovators: “Plano continues to attract the world’s top innovators, and NTx is a perfect fit for our dynamic and growing life sciences community.” Representative Katrina Pierson emphasized the pro-business environment of Texas: “NTx’s decision to invest in Texas is a perfect example of the innovative and pro-business environment our state offers.”

Mayor John B. Muns also welcomed NTxBio's arrival: “We are excited to collaborate with Governor Abbott and the Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office to welcome NTx to Plano.” Doug McDonald from the City of Plano echoed this sentiment by noting that Plano is rapidly becoming a hub for innovation within North Texas’ thriving life sciences industry.
