Governor Greg Abbott has announced that the next Governor’s Small Business Summit will take place in Denison on May 15, 2025. The summits are held throughout the year across Texas to support small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs by providing access to resources and information necessary for starting, strengthening, and growing businesses.

"Small businesses are the cornerstone of our vibrant communities and the driving force behind Texas’ thriving economy," said Governor Abbott. "With more than 3 million small businesses across Texas, employing nearly half of all working Texans, our state continues to lead in job creation and business expansion. I invite all small business owners and entrepreneurs to attend this Governor’s Small Business Summit or one in their region. Together, we will ensure that our small business community continues to thrive as we build a stronger, more prosperous Texas than ever before."

The summit in Denison will bring together local, state, and federal resource partners to provide insights on critical business topics. It also offers networking opportunities with other business owners and experts who will share advice on various small business subjects.

The event is scheduled for Thursday, May 15, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Eisenhower Business Center located at 2415 S. Austin Ave., Denison, TX 75020. Session topics include "Building Your Dream: A Conversation with Entrepreneurs," "Access to Financing: Funding a Growing Business," and "The Small Business Toolkit: Marketing, Cybersecurity, Social Media." Registration costs $20 and includes access to sessions, resource providers, lunch, and complimentary headshots.

Additional summits are planned throughout the year in various locations including Sugar Land on May 29; Hays County on June 12; Bastrop on June 26; Rockport-Fulton on July 10; Waxahachie on July 24; Pharr on August 7; Big Lake on August 21; Eagle Pass on September 11; Carthage on September 25; Dalhart on October 9; Denton (Women-Focused Event) on October 23; Belton (Veteran-Focused Event) on November 13.
