Governor Greg Abbott has made significant appointments to the Texas Real Estate Commission. Kristi Davis and James B. Goodwin have been appointed as members, with their terms set to expire on January 31, 2031. Mark Woodroof has been named as the chair of the board.

The Texas Real Estate Commission's primary role is to safeguard public interests in dealings with real estate brokers and salespersons.

Kristi Davis, hailing from Carrollton, is a real estate broker and vice president at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty Texas. She holds several leadership roles, including president of the Board of Directors for North Texas Real Estate Information Services and membership in various real estate associations. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Public Relations from the University of North Texas.

James B. Goodwin from Austin owns JBGoodwin REALTORS and has served on several boards related to housing and real estate. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin.

Mark Woodroof, based in Houston, is CEO of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Greene. He has held leadership positions within multiple real estate organizations and possesses an extensive educational background with degrees from the University of Houston and the University of St. Thomas.

These appointments await confirmation by the Senate.
