Congressman Morgan Luttrell (R-TX) expressed approval following the advancement of significant reconciliation packages by the House Homeland Security Committee and the House Armed Services Committee. These packages align with President Trump's agenda focused on securing borders, strengthening the military, and reinforcing American presence globally.

Luttrell stated, "House Republicans followed through on our commitment to the American people. We're bringing law and order back to our border, and we’re rebuilding American strength around the world." He emphasized initiatives such as building a wall, expanding Border Patrol forces, investing in advanced technology, combating cartels, and curbing drug and human trafficking.

He continued, "We’re also making a generational investment to secure America’s future. We’re rebuilding our Navy, ramping up production of munitions and advanced weapons, modernizing our nuclear deterrent," among other defense enhancements. Luttrell highlighted efforts like constructing the Golden Dome missile defense shield and boosting capabilities against potential threats from China.

The Homeland Security Committee's package allocates $46.5 billion for 701 miles of primary border wall construction and related barriers. It includes $5 billion for modernizing CBP facilities and $4.1 billion for hiring additional personnel. Further investments target surveillance technologies and non-intrusive inspection systems at entry points.

Simultaneously, the Armed Services Committee's package designates $9 billion towards improving servicemembers' quality of life through housing and healthcare initiatives. It earmarks funds for shipbuilding, missile defense development with the Golden Dome project receiving $25 billion, and enhancing nuclear deterrence capabilities.

These reconciliations are part of broader measures aimed at reinforcing national security while supporting domestic infrastructure projects linked to events like the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Houston.
