Texas has been recognized by Site Selection magazine with the 2025 Prosperity Cup, ranking as the top state for attracting new business investments. Governor Greg Abbott attributed the success to Texas' business-friendly environment, stating, “Texas is No. 1 in the nation for attracting new business investments because we offer businesses the freedom to succeed.”
Governor Abbott emphasized that Texas offers a conducive environment for industry leaders and job creators from both the U.S. and abroad, citing the state's strong business climate and economy. “With America’s best business climate and a booming Texas economy powered by our skilled and growing workforce, we will build on this momentum for a stronger, more prosperous Texas for decades to come,” Abbott said.
This award is described by Site Selection as a “Triple Crown Trophy” for the state. Previously, in March, Governor Abbott received Site Selection magazine's Governor's Cup, marking Texas as the leading state for the most new and expanded business facility projects for the 13th consecutive year. Additionally, last November, Texas was acknowledged for having the best business climate in the nation by the publication.
The Prosperity Cup is an annual recognition given by Site Selection to the most competitive state, determined through an investment-attraction index. This index evaluates new business location and expansion projects, capital investment, job creation, business and tax climate, and workforce readiness.
