Abbott reappoints Bugg to State Preservation Board until 2027

Governor Greg Abbott has announced the reappointment of Alethea Swann Bugg to the State Preservation Board. Bugg will serve a term that expires on February 1, 2027.

Alethea Swann Bugg, based in San Antonio, actively participates in various community roles. She serves as the board chair of Mission Road Ministries and as the board president of the Friends of the Tobin Library at Oakwell. Beyond these roles, Bugg is a member of the Charity Ball Association of San Antonio. Her previous commitments include serving as board chair of the Blood and Tissue Center Foundation and as a board member of the KLRN Endowment Fund. Bugg holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Sewanee: The University of the South and a Master of Science in Library Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The reappointment requires confirmation from the Senate, as is customary for such positions.
