Governor Greg Abbott announced that Texas has been ranked the Best State for Business by Chief Executive magazine for the 21st consecutive year. This ranking is based on an annual survey which gathers opinions from the nation’s top CEOs about each state’s business environment, workforce quality, and overall quality of life.
Governor Abbott remarked, "Texas offers businesses the freedom to succeed — that’s why the nation’s CEOs have ranked Texas as the Best State for Business for more than two decades and counting. Texas is where entrepreneurs can cast a vision and know they can achieve it. The successful CEOs I meet with credit our business-friendly climate, highly skilled and diverse workforce, and exceptional quality of life across every region of our great state as Texas’ top advantages. We will continue to cut red tape and partner with job-creating businesses and innovators to build a stronger, more prosperous Texas for decades to come."
The state has maintained its leading position since the inception of the ranking by Chief Executive. In addition to the recognition, Governor Abbott recently signed Senate Bill 14, also known as Texas DOGE, into law. This legislation establishes the Texas Regulatory Efficiency Office, aiming to streamline regulations and enforce stricter standards on new regulations. This initiative is based on recommendations from the Governor's Small Business Freedom Council, intending to preserve Texas’s status as a state supportive of businesses of all sizes.
