Governor Greg Abbott, Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, Speaker Dustin Burrows, Chairman Brandon Creighton, and Chairman Brad Buckley have expressed satisfaction following the final approval of Senate Bill 2 by the Texas House of Representatives. This legislation is notable for its large-scale introduction of school choice initiatives.

Governor Abbott stated, “Today, the Texas House took the final step to advance Senate Bill 2, the largest day-one school choice launch in the nation. This is an unprecedented victory for families, students, and the future of our great state." He commended various stakeholders for their efforts, emphasizing Texas's potential leadership in education through combined school choice and public education funding.

Lieutenant Governor Patrick recognized this as a momentous occasion for students and parents in Texas, attributing the achievement to persistence after five unsuccessful attempts. He mentioned, "I thank Governor Abbott for his staunch support and Speaker Burrows’ commitment to getting school choice finally across the finish line," also acknowledging President Trump’s influence on the House Republicans’ recent actions.

Speaker Burrows noted the advantages of the 'Texas Two Step' plan, emphasizing both the expansion of educational options and significant classroom funding increases via Senate Bill 2 and a related House bill focused on enhancing teacher compensation. "Texas families deserve greater opportunities to tailor their child’s learning experiences to their individual needs," he said, underlining the implications of this legislation.

Chairman Creighton highlighted the growing movement towards educational freedom, declaring, "In the U.S., two-thirds of the states have seen incredible success with expanded school choice. Now, Texas will lead with policy that will serve as a national model in Senate Bill 2." He framed the bill's passage as a pivotal moment for asserting parental choice in education.

Finally, Chairman Buckley emphasized the potential benefits for children across the state, stating, “Senate Bill 2 paves the way for every Texas kid to thrive in the educational environment that will serve them best.”
