Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Alan Herrington to serve on the Board of Directors for the Upper Neches River Municipal Water Authority. Herrington's term is scheduled to conclude on February 1, 2029. The Board is tasked with developing and conserving water resources within Anderson, Cherokee, Smith, and Henderson Counties, focusing on the Upper Neches River basin and its tributaries.
Herrington, a resident of Palestine, is retired from a career spanning 34 years in the financial sector. His previous professional affiliations include being a fellow of the Society of Actuaries as well as a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He possesses a Bachelor of Business Administration in Actuarial Science from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master's in Actuarial Science from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.
The appointment awaits Senate confirmation.
