Governor Greg Abbott has made appointments to the Risk Management Board, which is responsible for overseeing insurance services for state agencies in Texas. Jason Boatright, previously a Justice on the Fifth Court of Appeals, has been appointed to serve until February 1, 2031. He is currently a special counsel for Duane Morris LLP. Boatright holds degrees from Middlebury College, the University of St. Andrews, and the University of Texas School of Law.

Jeffrey Houston has been reappointed to the Board, also with a term ending on February 1, 2031. Houston, who resides in Dripping Springs, has a background in finance, having served as senior vice president at Mondee Holdings, Inc. He is active in the Chartered Financial Analyst Society Austin and has a bachelor's degree from Indiana University and an MBA from DePaul University.

Additionally, Jason Hartgraves from Frisco joins the Board with a term concluding on February 1, 2027. Hartgraves is a law enforcement executive and holds positions within North Texas Police Chiefs Association and the FBI National Executive Institute Associates. His educational background includes degrees from Dallas Baptist University and Texas A&M University-Commerce.

The appointments are pending confirmation by the Senate.
