Governor Greg Abbott has announced the reappointment of Daniel Bivens and Vanessa Cortez Tanner to the State Employee Charitable Campaign Policy Committee. Their terms are set to expire on September 1, 2026.

Bivens, a resident of Austin, is retired from the State of Texas. His career included roles such as the director of the Office of Public Utility Counsel and a program specialist at the Railroad Commission of Texas. Apart from his professional work, Bivens was an interim discipleship pastor at Hyde Park Baptist Church and continues to engage in church ministries. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University.

Vanessa Cortez Tanner, also from Austin, is currently serving as the chief of staff for Representative Brad Buckley. Her previous roles included chief of staff for Representative Scott Sanford and various positions with the Texas Senate Committee on Administration. Tanner's responsibilities extend to serving as a member and past president of the Texas State University Austin Alumni Chapter, among other affiliations. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Mass Communication from Texas State University.

The reappointments of Bivens and Tanner are pending confirmation by the Senate.
