Governor Greg Abbott announced the appointment of Andrew Polk to serve on the Texas Farm and Ranch Lands Conservation Council. Polk’s term will conclude on February 1, 2029. The role of the council is to advise and support the Texas Farm and Ranch Lands Conservation Program (TFRLCP), focusing on the preservation of lands significant for water, fish and wildlife, and agricultural production. Moreover, the council is involved in selecting grant recipients within the program.

Andrew Polk, a resident of Lufkin, currently holds the position of senior vice president and commercial lender at Angelina Savings Bank, and he is also a partner at Polk Land & Cattle Company. Beyond his professional endeavors, Polk is an active member of the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, serving as vice chair of the Natural Resources Committee. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Leadership and Development from Texas A&M University and a Ranch Management certificate from Texas Christian University.

The appointment of Polk requires confirmation by the Senate.
