Texas has once again led the nation in job creation, according to recent employment data. February 2025 statistics from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Texas Workforce Commission reveal that Texas broke records for total jobs, the number of working Texans, and labor force size.

Governor Greg Abbott expressed optimism about the state's economic achievements. "Texas continues to lead the nation for job creation because Texas is where the future is building," he remarked. Governor Abbott attributed the success to pro-growth economic policies and a skilled workforce, asserting that "Texas is a beacon of innovation and a magnet for new business investment across all industries."

The data highlights several key achievements in February 2025:

- The labor force in Texas reached an unprecedented size of 15,770,300.

- The number of working Texans, including self-employed individuals, hit a record 15,126,900.

- Texas achieved a new high for total nonfarm jobs, reaching 14,254,200 after an increase of 20,100 jobs in February.

- Over a year, from February 2024 to February 2025, Texas added 182,300 nonfarm jobs, more than any other state in the nation.

Governor Abbott recently emphasized Texas' economic success at a Nasdaq, Inc. luncheon in Dallas, where the company announced plans to open a new regional headquarters in the city. This follows the New York Stock Exchange's decision last month to move its Chicago branch to Dallas, and the announcement of a new national stock exchange in Texas, the Texas Stock Exchange (TXSE), at the Texas Governor’s Mansion.
