Governor Greg Abbott has made new appointments to the Nursing Facility Administrators Advisory Committee. Kimberly Posey, Ph.D., and Regina Franklin have been appointed, while Carla Smith has been reappointed. Their terms will expire on February 1, 2031. The committee advises the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services on licensure sanctions and rule changes for the Nursing Facility Administrator Licensing Program.
Kimberly Posey, Ph.D., from Trophy Club, serves as director of Graduate Nursing and is a practicing Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner at Texas Christian University. She holds several positions in professional nursing organizations and founded a foot clinic at True Worth Place where she volunteers. Her educational background includes degrees from Texas Woman’s University, The University of Texas at Arlington, Texas Christian University, and William Carey University.
Regina Franklin from Bedford directs the Long-Term Care Administration at Tarrant County College Trinity River Campus. She is involved with multiple healthcare associations and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated - Alpha Xi Omega Chapter. Her academic credentials include degrees from Wichita State University, Texas Woman’s University, and Southern Methodist University's Perkins School of Theology.
Carla Smith from Midland brings extensive experience in telecommunications with Southwestern Bell Telephone and over 35 years in Christian ministry work alongside various non-profits.
