Governor Greg Abbott has announced the appointment of Brandy Robinson as the new Austin County Criminal District Attorney. Her term will continue until December 31, 2026, or until a successor is elected and qualified.
Robinson currently serves as the first assistant criminal district attorney in the Austin County Criminal District Attorney’s Office. She has been involved with various legal organizations including being a member and former president of the Austin County Bar Association. She also holds memberships in the State Bar of Texas, Texas Prosecutors Society, and the Texas District & County Attorneys Association.
In addition to her professional affiliations, Robinson has contributed to several community and legal initiatives. She served as the editorial board chair for The Texas Prosecutor Journal and is both president and founding member of the Austin County Child Advocacy Council. Furthermore, she participates in gospel music ministry at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville.
Robinson's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in History and English from Texas State University and a Juris Doctor from Baylor Law School.
The appointment awaits confirmation by the Senate.
